Full Details for PhD Admission Online Form 2022-23
Eligibility: Candidates seeking admission to the Ph.D. program should have a Master’s degree in the concerned subject or a professional degree declared equivalent to the Master’s degree by the corresponding statutory regulatory body, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade ‘B’ in the UGC 7-point scale. A relaxation of 5% of marks, from 55% to 50%, or an equivalent relaxation of grade, may be given to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently-Abled and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the Commision from time to time, or for those who had obtained their Master’s degree prior to 19th September, 1991. ADMISSION CATEGORIES: [A] Full-Time Ph.D. Programme & [B] Part-Time Ph.D. Programme Admission Procedure: As per Ph.D Ordinance 2021 the admission will be given on the basis of entrance test and interview. The final selection of candidates for Ph.D. Programme shall be based on 70% weightage to the Research Entrance Test (RET) and 30% weightage to performance in the interview/viva-voce (including weightage to JRF/NET/ UP-SLET. All candidates who qualify the RET with minimum 50% marks, will be called for interview. There will be 5% relaxation in marks for OBC/SC/ST candidates. i.e. 45% will be minimum qualifying marks for OBC/SC/ST candidates. The syllabus of the Entrance Test shall consist of 50% of research methodology and 50% shall be subject specific. There will be 140 questions in all. 70 questions would be for research methodology and 70 would be subject specific.
